Post-Op. Care Instructions
Take the prescribed medication three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening) after meals for 5 days.
● Face
- From the day after surgery until Day 2, replace the tape on the fat injection sites once a day.
- Starting on Day 3, remove all tapes and apply antibiotic ointment to the wound area three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening) until Day 7.
- For the first 1-2 days after surgery, you may notice clear blood or oil seeping from the needle holes where the fat was injected; gently wipe away any that flows out.
● Liposuction Areas
- After removing the tape (on Day 3 post-surgery) until 7 days after the stitches are removed, apply antibiotic ointment to the wound area three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening).
● On the 7th day after surgery, visit the clinic for sterilization and stitch removal.
Cold/hot compresses can actually hinder the engraftment of fat, so they should be avoided.
Sitting upright or taking a light walk is more effective in reducing swelling than lying down.
If you have had fat grafting in your forehead, it is natural for the swelling to move downwards and cause puffiness around the eyes.
On Day 3, you can remove the tape from both your face and the liposuction area, and then proceed with washing your face, shampooing, and showering.
After washing, make sure to carefully dry the wound area and apply an antibiotic ointment.
You may start applying makeup one week after surgery.
※ When washing your face and applying makeup, be careful not to press on the fat grafted areas.
Engraftment Period:
The first 3 months is the period during which the grafted fat is engrafting.
During the engraftment period, be cautious not to apply pressure to the grafted area.
Avoid sleeping on your stomach or side; instead, sleep on your back facing the ceiling.
If fat was grafted to your forehead, avoid wearing caps or swim caps as they may press on the grafted area and alter its shape.
Dieting and excessive exercise post-surgery can cause the fat to be absorbed, reducing the engraftment rate.
Avoid ultrasound and skin treatments on the grafted area for 3 months, as they may lead to fat absorption.
Retouching:
After 1 to 2 months post-surgery, the grafted fat may appear to settle or reduce in volume.
At this time, some individuals may require a secondary fat graft, which will be determined during a follow-up visit.
If retouching is included in your plan, it is recommended to undergo the procedure within 2 to 3 months.
Frozen fat is stored for up to 3 months, after which it will be discarded, so additional costs may apply if you request a retouch after the storage period has passed.
Note: The clinic will not contact you individually, so please check your retouching period and schedule your appointment in advance.
1. Symptoms You Don't Need to Worry About
● The skin around the surgical area may feel temporarily numb, but this will improve over time, so there's no need to worry.
● If fat was injected into your forehead, the scalp may feel numb.
● Some individuals may experience skin troubles. In such cases, it is advisable to avoid greasy foods.
2. For the first week after surgery, it is recommended to sleep with your head elevated above heart level.
3. Avoid alcohol, smoking, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 1 month after surgery.
4. Exercise
● Light aerobic exercises, such as walking, are allowed from the day after surgery, but it's best to avoid sweating.
● Avoid exercise for weight loss during the engraftment period, as it may reduce the survival rate of the grafted fat.
● Swimming should be avoided for 3 months, as wearing goggles and a swim cap may deform the grafted area.
