Post-Op. Care Instructions
Take the prescribed medication three times a day (morning, afternoon, and evening) after meals for 5 days.
● There are no visible external wounds, as the incision is inside the eye. Please use eye drops to manage the area.
- Shake the bottle and apply 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day (morning, afternoon, evening, and before bed) for one week.
● No stitch removal is required.
● Day of Surgery to Day 3: Cold Compress
● Day 4 and Beyond: Hot Compress
Apply a compress to the eye area.
When applying cold or hot compresses, there is a risk of frostbite or burns, so make sure to place gauze or a handkerchief between the compress and your skin to avoid direct contact.
The ice pack provided can be used for both cold and hot compresses.
For hot compresses, melt the ice pack first and then warm it by placing it in warm water.
Using a microwave is not recommended as it may cause the pack to burst.
Hot compresses help improve blood circulation, which aids in reducing swelling. Once the swelling has sufficiently subsided, you may stop using the hot compress.
● For Suborbital Fat Removal Only:
You can wash your face, shampoo your hair, shower, and apply makeup starting from the day after surgery. However, be careful not to rub your eyes or the area under your eyes during face washing and makeup application.
Contact lens use is allowed starting 1 month after surgery.
● If Fat Grafting Was Also Performed:
On the 3rd day, after removing the tape from your face and liposuction areas, you can wash your face, shampoo your hair, and shower.
After washing, make sure to carefully dry the wound areas and apply antibiotic ointment.
Makeup can be applied starting one week after surgery.
Note: For the first 2 weeks, avoid bending forward to wash your hair. Instead, wash your hair while standing in the shower and tilting your head back.
1. Symptoms you don't need to worry about:
- Your vision may appear blurry after surgery, and you may feel a foreign body sensation in your eyes.
- Conjunctival edema (swelling that makes the conjunctiva appear white or clear) and redness may occur. Conjunctival edema usually resolves naturally within 1 to 2 weeks.
- You may temporarily experience increased tearing or eye discharge.
2. Avoid rubbing your eyes vigorously for 1 month.
3. For the first week after surgery, it is recommended to sleep with your head elevated above heart level.
4. Avoid activities that put pressure on the eyes or increase blood pressure, as this can increase the risk of bleeding.
- Examples include squeezing your eyes shut tightly, coughing, sneezing, vomiting, and bending over to wash your hair.
5. Avoid alcohol, smoking, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 1 month after surgery.
